Great Ideas for shooting at an in-door range.

When it comes to handgun shooting techniques and etiquette at an indoor shooting range, there are several key things to keep in mind:

1.     Safety first: Always make sure that you understand and follow the safety rules of the range. Keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction, keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, and always wear ear and eye protection.

2.     Proper grip: Make sure you have a proper grip on the firearm to ensure accuracy and control. Your dominant hand should grip the handle firmly while your other hand supports the gun from underneath.

3.     Stance: Your stance is important for balance and control. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Lean forward slightly with your weight balanced evenly between your feet.

4.     Breathing: Your breathing can affect your accuracy. Take a deep breath, exhale halfway, and hold your breath while you shoot.

5.     Trigger control: Proper trigger control is essential for accuracy. Use the pad of your finger to pull the trigger slowly and smoothly, without jerking or flinching.

6.     Etiquette: Be respectful of other shooters at the range. Follow the range rules, wait your turn, and never handle your firearm when others are downrange.

7.     Range commands: Pay attention to range commands and follow them promptly. Commands may include "load," "make ready," "fire," and "cease fire."

8.     Cleaning and maintenance: Proper cleaning and maintenance of your firearm is essential for safety and performance. Make sure you clean and maintain your firearm regularly and follow manufacturer recommendations.

Some great handgun shooting drills for indoor ranges include:

1.     Bullseye shooting: This is a classic drill that focuses on accuracy. Shoot at a small target and try to hit the center bullseye.

2.     Speed shooting: This drill focuses on speed and accuracy. Set a timer and shoot at multiple targets as quickly and accurately as possible.

3.     Controlled pairs: This drill focuses on accuracy and follow-up shots. Shoot at two targets and aim to hit each one twice, quickly and accurately.

4.     Shooting on the move: This drill focuses on shooting while moving. Walk forward or backward while shooting at a target.

5.     One-handed shooting: This drill focuses on shooting with one hand. Shoot at a target with your dominant and non-dominant hand separately to improve your accuracy and control.

6.     Remember, always follow the rules and regulations of the range and practice good etiquette to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
